James Campground

Lima East , Victoria

A pleasant, reasonably large site on grassed creek flats sloping down to the Lima East (Moonee Moonee or Black Charlie) Creek, surrounded by steep forested hills. Overlooked by the low use forestry road. Some shade is provided by scattered Narrow-leaved Peppermint, Mountain Ash and Blackwood wattle.

Bentley Plain Campground

, Victoria

A beautiful, peaceful sub-alpine camp overlooking a small, marshy snow plain (spring wildflowers), backed by forested ridge tops. Set in a forest reserve at 1,080m. Rated 4. 3/5. Magpies, rosellas, wombats and wallabies are common.

Cottontree Campground

Granya , Victoria

A pleasant picnic/camping area in a small valley on the edge of the Mount Granya State Park. Features a level, gravelled car park and large level mown lawn (an old dairy site). There is very little shade, although backed by open, dry sclerophyll Red Stringybark and Long-leaved Box forest.

Western Beach Campground

Rainbow , Victoria

Western Beach is the main campground in Lake Albacutya Regional Park. Located above the Lake shoreline in open Black Box woodland with no understory, backed by cypress pine, buloke, mallee and heathland. Thousands of trees have been planted to save eroding dunes.

Taponga Campground

Eildon , Victoria

A reasonably large, level cleared circuit, surrounded by Peppermint forest with tea-tree understory above the rushing Taponga River. Short grass, well shaded. A pleasant camp, not as popular as other Lower Big River sites, probably as it is not on the Big River. Rated 4.

Victoria Falls Campground

Cobungra , Victoria

A pleasant, small camping area on the nose of a ridge above the picnic area and willow lined Victoria River (small). Set in open woodland of stunted gums over green mown grass and surrounded by rolling open farmland. Facilities (5 BBQs & tables, pit toilet) good.
