Wild Dog Bend Campground

3305, Mount Richmond
Victoria, Australia

Pleasant riverside camp overlooking the winding gorge of the wide and deep lower Glenelg River.
The furthest upstream vehicle accessible site within the Park. Bush setting with reasonable shade from Brown Stringybark Gums. Both sites are level, grassed and reasonably large, separated by shrubs. Kangaroos and emus are common in the surrounding forest. Pit toilet, tank water Spring brings wildflowers and orchids, especially in the Kentbruck Heath area in the east of the Park. In the nearby gullies of the Moleside Creek (picnic ground on Nelson-Winnap Rd) can be found Australia's most westerly tree ferns - an example of the intermixing of western and eastern Australian plants to be found in this Park. Rated at 4.36/5
