Great spot for visiting Joshua tree! Nice pool and nice facilities! Note that this campground is a giant gravel parking lot

Good access from highway 62. Quick stop at the office to get our site assignment. Park is well kept but sites are fairly close together. Good, clean facilities: laundry, bathrooms/showers, game room, pool, etc. Site utilities were in good order. A little highway noise from Amboy Rd, but it didn't bother us. About 10 miles to Joshua Tree NP entrance, 20 miles to hiking. About 3-4 miles from restaurants in Twentynine Palms. Overall good experience. AT&T cell service was great - 4 bars of 5G, no problem streaming un-interrupted. Many HDTV channels.

Close to Joshua Tree National Park entrance for some great hikes. Pool and spa area have been renovated and look great - loved the new look of the pool area. Even enjoyed the 9 hole golf course next door for a relaxing morning of golf. Evening stars are beautiful. Sites are level, easy to access. Showers and facilities were clean and well maintained. Check-in and out was smooth. Quiet park, staff was helpful. Visited last 3 years - in the Spring they had Saturday night dinners for a great price, that was a nice surprise! Plan to stay and relax longer next time.

We stopped here in late February after a longish day of travel from southern Arizona. The facility is generally well kept. The showers are great and there's a pool that looks clean, but isn't heated. There's also a hot tub that looks great, but hasn't been operational since at least early November of last year. I was told a part needed for the hot tub was only days away from arriving. Sure it is. My guess is people staying here are mostly longer-term and most likely have some connection to the nearby Marine Base. It's anyone's guess why they put up with less-than-stellar facilities. They offer a Good Sam discount, but make sure you ask for it. We received it for our first night (the person making our reservation on the phone asked if we had it), but when I extended our stay the next day, the lump who was assisting me didn't discount our two additional nights and told me I should have asked for the discount even though he had what I'd payed the evening before on a computer screen. He didn't offer to correct his mistake. Great Verizon coverage and an easy drive or bike ride (well-marked bike lanes) into Twentynine Palms for errands. Joshua Tree National Park is close by too. Edit: My wife, being infinitely more patient with incompetence than I, just returned from the office with our Good Sam Discount receipt. All's well...

Pool has been closed for months! They finished some repairs, removed all dirt in the bottom and refilled. Crystal clear for days and now cloudy again with “pump” problem. Whirlpool has been empty for months with no apparent damage or repair attempts being made. Sauna is also unavailable!

The proximity to Joshua Tree NP is great. The campground is clean and nice. We were in one of the pull-through sites which resembles somewhat of a parking lot. However, it's easy to get in and out, it close to the park and Twentynine Palms offers all amenities of a small city. As a base to explore Joshua Tree NP, it's a good, clean and safe spot. We didn't use any facilities, so I can't comment on them but our site was clean upon arrival. We would stay here again.

We have expensive ebikes on back so we wanted a secure, safe place to stay. We are just passing through so this was perfect. Nice hot showers, perfect area for walking dog. Of course due to covid- pool, hot tub closed. Just being an overnighter we got a very undesirable spot. Backed in next to road, no grass. Road noise quits at night. Quick in was a breeze.

We were coming into Joshua Tree National Park and needed a camp spot. Really wish we had gone to the KOA on the south side of the park. This location was expensive for such a poorly kept campground. We were assigned a site right on the road but when we pulled up there was the site neighbor that had parked his truck in our site... Not a big deal, I thought - I'll just ask him to move. Knocked on his door - he steps out of a wreck of an old RV and tells me he can't because his truck is broken down. Great. Now I have to go get another spot from the staff. They don't care... Just put us one spot down from him again. These sites are tiny, expensive (for what you get) and grounds are poorly kept. Go somewhere else.
