We stayed here the last weekend before the park closes for the winter. The weather was gorgeous — sunny and quite warm. The water in the swimming hole was really cold, but it was a wonderful place to go regardless. The park itself was very quiet, despite being right off Highway 49. (There was very little traffic, despite it being a holiday weekend.) The camp hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful. There wasn’t much shade in our spot, although other sites did seem to have a few more trees. But all-in-all, this place was wonderful and we will definitely be back again. Sierra City is off the main Tahoe tourist thoroughfare, and we really enjoyed our stay here. The big drawback: no AT&T signal and the WiFi was pretty slow. That said, we were trying to get away for the weekend, so this didn’t bother us much at all.

Just stayed at this resort full hook ups and very clean bathrooms. Dogs are allowed no additional fees but check because it is breed restricted. Has a very nice river access with nice swim hole and stream fishing. Sites are mostly shaded with tress around. Hiking and mountain biking near by walked the town and very old cemetery and hiked up the buttes a bit too. Lots of Pacific Coast trail hikers waiting to hit the buttes so great conversation with hikers. Nice place to RR it appears that there are many monthly folks that leave there RV and come up when they please. Very safe and friendly host.
