I visited this location for a brief overnight stay to escape. The ascent was somewhat challenging in specific spots. I suspect the heavy rainfall had eroded the path, revealing numerous large rocks, but it was still manageable. This experience made me realise the need for a lift in my Subaru OB. The expansive campsite was furnished with a picnic table and a fire pit and had space for three additional cars. The site offered spectacular views, although there was litter left behind by previous visitors. It's important to remember to bring in and take out everything you bring! In total, I only noticed a few vehicles arriving (around 5-6). I would definitely return.

Beautiful campground! Huge spots and very few people. It’s 7K+ elevation so keep in mind oxygen sensors in heaters (like my mr buddy) don’t work well in high elevation and it definitely gets cold at night in October- even though it was hot in the daytime. Verizon would get a bar or two and texts could be randomly sent but definitely without pictures.

Stayed over Memorial Day with an attempt to avoid the crowds and it didn’t disappoint. Found a first come site mid-day when I was half-expecting the place to be completely full. Had a great view of sunsets, sunrises, and great view overlooking Palm Desert. I wouldn’t try it with anything but an off-road capable RV. The only downside is the significant amount of broken glass everywhere-clearly others haven’t packed their trash out. Day use folks in the site above ours left a bunch of trash that I had to pick up. The place is great, too bad these kind of people know about it...
