We were looking for a quiet, out of the way park to spend the weekend between Lake Texoma and Lampasas without having to drive through DFW. Over Yonder RV Park in Olney filled the bill perfectly. The route from north TX was 95% rural with no bad roads or traffic congestion. At first glance Olney appears typical of a lot of north Texas towns with a surplus of empty buildings on main street, but look a bit closer and there are some newer small businesses and signs of community pride here. The grocery store is well stocked and sparkling inside. Start the day with a hot espresso drink from Hometown Coffee and donuts or koloches from Olney's Donuts....can't go wrong. But back to the park; full hookups, some sites shaded by large pecan trees, friendly owners, off the main streets and a Passport America rate of $15. That's close to perfect in our book.
