About Matatane Camp

Matatane Camp offers accommodation in Ulundi in the White Umfolozi Valley, close to the impressive Nhlazatshe Mountain. If you’re after an outdoor adventure, Matatane is the place to be with its hiking, game viewing, mountain biking, birding and soon to be completed Activity Centre with adventure activities such as abseiling and zip-lining. Matatane Camp offers guests a choice of tented camps or chalets. Each of the chalets has an en-suite bathroom with a shower, a basin, and a toilet, and amenities such as shower gel, liquid soap, and shampoo are provided. The chalets are fitted with tea and coffee making facilities and open onto a deck with beautiful views of the bush and surroundings. The tented camps are furnished with single beds / mattresses and each have their own en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, toilet and basin. The tents have tea / coffee making facilities. Linen and towels are provided in all units except the six sleeper tents which are mattresses only and will require you to bring your own linen and bedding. Please see the individual room descriptions with photographs below, to assist you with your choice. Three central bomas comprising a kitchen, lounge and dining room, service each of these camps, offering guests a warm, comfy place to gather. Cooking and braai facilities are available, and a camp cook is on hand to rustle up tasty meals. Spend your evenings around a crackling fire at the spacious braai area, and on a clear night take in our magnificent view of the Milky Way. Where life is so busy, this camp will take you back to basics, provide unique outdoor experiences and send you home with memories for a lifetime.
