About Marlu Farm Camping

Marlu Farm Stay Camping is located on a farm located halfway between Steytlerville and Willowmore, only 12 km off the R329 (with easy access for sedan cars), and roughly equidistant from Port Elizabeth, Jeffreys Bay, Knysna, Oudtshoorn, Beaufort West and Graaff-Reinet. Marlu is an ideal base from which to explore the attractions of Baviaanskloof, of the Karoo or simply just stay here and enjoy. Marlu Farm Stay Camping is available on one campsite which can accommodate twenty campers. The private 'wild' campsite is situated on the riverbank at the foot of the Grootriver Mountain range. We take one reservation at a time only, so you have all the space to yourself and are totally private, out in the veld. There is no electricity on the campsite. The ablution facility consists of a toilet, basin and shower. There is a dishwashing double sink and working surface in the “kitchen” area. The water supply is from a fresh water spring in the mountain. Hot water is supplied by a gas geyser. Light source is paraffin lamps and candles. Parking is available under the trees. Menu available should you be interested. All dishes are homemade and prepared by your host. Meals are served at the main house. Cash bar available with dinner only. Advanced reservation is a necessity. We also serve breakfast. Preserved items, braai packs and freshly baked products can also be ordered timeously. The shady, quiet, peaceful campsites provide excellent bird watching opportunities with kudu and other game visiting to graze and drink water at the river. Fishing and swimming in the river are possible and, depending on the water level, also canoeing. The campsite is the ideal base from where to explore the farm by foot, 4x4 or 4x2. Our 4x4 routes are self drive for our guests only, no day visitors are allowed.
