I don't know where to start with this account. The customer service at this KOA was the worst I've ever encountered. While we were there, a Class-A motorhome arrived and left shortly after. Intrigued, I asked why they were departing so soon. Another camper informed me that the motorhome driver couldn't park his vehicle properly in the allotted space, and wouldn't be able to extend his vehicle's slides. A KOA staff member simply told him, "If you don't like it, you can leave." It seemed that as long as they received their payment, they didn't care about the campers' experiences. The Moore Haven KOA is independently owned, meaning that the KOA corporate office won't assist with any issues, particularly those related to fees or pricing. If you book a stay for just under a month, they'll charge you a daily rate for your stay, but they won't inform you about this or rectify the situation. I was charged $800 for a single day.We met a former Moore Haven KOA employee after we left, who revealed that they were instructed not to disclose the pricing differences to customers. The camp store's prices were higher than most other campgrounds, but considering the cost of gas to go into town, it was more economical to pay the camp store prices. They have a designated area for washing vehicles, located at the back of the campground, but it's locked and you have to pay to use it, another detail they won't disclose. The pool was cold throughout our nearly four-week stay, despite the website claiming it was heated. There were no umbrellas available for those who wanted to enjoy the pool but avoid the sun, even though their website showed umbrellas on the pool deck. This felt like borderline false advertising to me.The campground is surrounded by dilapidated cattle ranches and farms, which can produce an unpleasant smell if the wind is blowing in the right direction. This marked our quartet of winters at the Aruba RV Park. Despite its slightly worn-out appearance, we've always enjoyed the camaraderie we found there. However, this winter saw a shift in management and ownership, which didn't bode well. Our intended stay of 2.5 months was cut short to just 6 weeks. People are leaving the park in droves. The management team is discourteous and lacks respect. The person in charge of the office struggles with basic computer tasks. There's zero assistance from the proprietors. All the fun activities have either declined in quality or ceased altogether. My recommendation would be to keep moving.

Prices used to be good, but like everything else they are skyrocketing ($150/night for a “deluxe” site, which used to be basic and nothing was changed to improve it… only the name!). Had a basic site that they are now calling another deluxe. Full hook ups and that’s it, on grass, no fire pit, no grill, nothing else. Now they’re charging for every little thing. And since the snowbirds have left they keep a padlock on the pool for most of the day and if you try to contact anybody in office, the voicemail is full and no one is ever in. And the property manager, Wendy, acts like everybody is an inconvenience. No wi-fi unless you go thru state wi-fi & purchase (we tried and it never worked ). Laundry facilities hardly ever work (5 washers and dryer’s for a park with 300 spaces?), there’s never change in the machine, and don’t think to go to the office and ask for change. There’s nothing within a 40 minute drive of this place. I would tell everybody to stay away!!!! We could not get out of here fast enough! The only reason we stayed as long as we did was because we were having a house built and had no place else to park at the time. They do NOT do ANY refunds for any reason. It’s also right off the main highway artery with truck noise 24 seven. If I could give it zero stars I would. If you stay here, BEWARE!!!!!

Part of our expectation are consistency of amenities and friendly staff. Neither hit the mark at this one. We arrived early, yep, they charged us extra. We could have sat in their drive and waited, but the site was all ready to go. Our site was acceptable, but only after I purchased extra sewer hose. My 29 ft hose did cut it. Patio had some new furniture which looked nice, but the concrete patio had broken edges Facilities, looked ok, most had a fresh coat of paint. Laundry, well, by the time we left nothing worked. The on-site manager was trying to get the off-site owner to take care of it. The day we left; we were told the county health department had just issued a boil water warning for the park. No offer to compensate for the inconvenience. Of course, I had just refilled my fresh water because they said they had good water. Fortunately, we didn't get sick.

This is now Moore Haven KOA. Great space to hit both coasts in about an hour.
