Lilac Oaks RV Park & Campground

30821 Lilac Road
92082, Valley Center
California, the United States

Lilac Oaks RV Park and Campground is located just north of the unincorporated community of Valley Center. We are surrounded by beautiful country with views of rolling hills and seasonal streambeds lined with native live oak and sycamore trees and the panorama of Rodriguez Peak and the Palomar Mountain range.  It is just five miles from Escondido which has one of the best shopping centers in San Diego County, a wonderful hospital district, and boasts all the advantages for which one could ask. We have a mild climate in which delicate crops such as avocados, citrus, and flowers are successfully produced. There are several ways into the valley and, once entered, the rest of the world drops away, and you become aware of the beauty, orchards, flowers and trees, lovely hills and majestic Palomar Mountain. Onsite amenities include hookups with water & electric, tent sites, hot showers & laundry.  Swimming pool, playgrounds, arcade, basketball court, horseshoes, fitness & nature trails. Three catch & release fishing ponds. Meeting facilities for groups up to 50 and an outdoor amphitheater for group activities. Over 55 acres of shade and outdoor pleasure. Daily, weekly and monthly sites available.

our story: we pulled in and our site was filthy, garbage can was in the fire pit, the ground was totally uneven and dirt only. on the ground was a pot pipe, smashed cans and plastic lids everywhere! just plain trashy. we saw folks driving through with babies on their laps, a women applying deodorant in the parking lot. in general a pretty sketchy place, we are not prudes but this place was not for us! we were not comfortable at all. we wanted to drive over to the ocean but we were afraid to leave our camper (our home). I can only say if you don't care about your things (this is an assumption as we didn't have anything taken in the 2 hours we were there ) then go ahead and stay here. If you do care, I would not spend the night, we moved on and found another RV park about 10 minutes away that is family friendly and clean and has a feeling of security and peace.

We drove through this campground just to check it out as our kids live in the area. Looked like mostly long term renters many with older shabby units crammed together off of narrow lanes with dead ends. Very little room to turn even a car around. Best to scout site before parking. Some sections on the street side of the lake would be easier to maneuver, but the sites across the bridge on the terraces are small. Looks more like a trailer park with potted plastic plants and many service vehicles parked along the road. Also, it is situated just below I-15 so a bit noisy. We didn't check out any of the facilities like the restrooms or laundry because we wouldn't be staying here. Kind of creepy.
