GDP Reserve
Balule Nature Reserve, Valley of the Olifants
Limpopo, South Africa

Kingly Explorer Camp is a Limpopo game lodge providing a wildlife experience for tourists visiting Valley of the Olifants.

About Kingly Explorer Camp
Kingly Explorer Camp is a harming and rustic offering accommodation in Balule at the heart of the Greater Kruger’s Big 5 territory. Kingly focuses on activities and experiences, introducing adventurers to the rugged outdoor lifestyle while never comprising on comfort. The entire camp is built around a waterhole frequented by buffalo and elephants. Kingly Explorer Camp is an intimate camp with just four Meru-style tents joined to the central area by raised rustic wooden walkways. The tents overlook a small but busy waterhole. Each of the sturdy tents is built on a raised platform, with its own private balcony. Private en suite bathrooms are open-air and have an outdoor shower, toilet and washbasin. There is nothing more freeing than showering out in the open, in the middle of the wilderness. Each tent is carpeted for warmth and has a twin bed set-up complete with bedside tables, and modern rugs for a touch of elegance. Beautiful heavy wood stand-alone shelving provides ample space for storage, while a small table provides extra storage space. The main area houses a swimming pool surrounded by a seating area. An intimate dining area flows easily into a seating area, complete with a rustic bar set-up. Guests can enjoy these small relaxation spaces, and read a book or connect over a gin and tonic. Nights are spent lounging around the fire pit in the boma area around a crackling campfire, chatting about recent sightings. Guest can book the entire lodge exclusively on a self catering basis or tents can be booked separately on a full board basis where three delicious meals are included each day. Homecooked bush style meals are tailored to guests' dietary requirements. Two professionally led game drives a day open up a world of opportunities to observe big game on the 3000-hectare traverse, while the unique Olifants River boat cruise with drinks and snacks provides a unique way to see the Kruger. A boat cruise in the Kruger is an unusual, yet worthwhile activity in the area. Bush walks can be arranged if travelling as a group or upon special request.
