During our summer journey, we had booked a stay at Cedar River Campground. We had already paid for two nights, but we were taken aback when we had to navigate through a dusty, rocky farm road with vehicles zooming past us at over 40 MPH. Upon reaching the campground's office, which was surprisingly closed in the middle of the day, we detached our tow vehicle and ventured into the campground. The sight was disheartening, resembling a squatter's area with dilapidated RVs crammed together. We didn't feel secure enough to stay and chose to give up our two-night fee to escape. Luckily, we discovered a county park a few miles east on I-80 that had numerous full hook-up sites. It was neat, well-managed, and situated near Davenport, IA. We loved it so much that we extended our stay by a few days. We would rate Scott County Park a strong 9+. Our recommendation would be to avoid Cedar River Campground at all costs!
