We don't live too far from Hermann and decided to try the campground instead of renting an apartment. The location is great. Downtown is certainly walkable from the campsite and there are lots of wineries and distilleries within a short drive. (Be careful there, obviously) Understand that this is a city park, so it's not going to be laid out like a state or national park campground. The sites are fairly close together but they're laid out pretty efficiently. We stayed in site 51 which is the last lot in what is essentially a gravel parking lot. It's adjacent to a little creek that we enjoyed siting next to while we had our morning coffee. We had full hookups in that area. It should be noted that in some of the spots its slightly uphill to the sewer hookup. You'll need supports for your sewer hose or a pump. The lot was mostly full when we were there but the neighbors were all very respectful and quiet. Altogether a great experience that I'm sure we'll repeat.

Nice, convenient location in the city of Hermann. Three parking areas. The section next to the shower building has nice shade. We parked in the area near the creek. It had no shade and the sewer connections were higher the the tank on our trailer.

Parked at the curb, tent at pavilion with electricity. Playgrounds, ballfields, even a swimming pool. Great place to bike. Beautiful town. Extra bathroom open at the pool.
