Contrary to the charming impression its name might give, this decrepit, poorly-kept RV park is far from deserving its 5 star rating on Campendium. It's unfortunate that we were fooled by this. Our assigned spot was number 80, situated at the very end of the park, surrounded by large vehicles. Our view consisted of an unattractive land deformation, construction machinery, and the ongoing expansion of the park. Spot 80 was uneven by 3 inches and had an old, warped picnic table. Near the entrance of the park, there were signs of strong winds that had knocked down several large trees, which still lay near the area designated for tent camping. There was only one dumpster, which was overflowing, presumably meant to accommodate the entire camping ground. The shower facilities, located near the office, had a faint smell of mildew. The noise from the nearby highway was quite loud. Everything, including the so-called "cement pond", seemed to be a relic from the Gunsmoke era. It wasn't charming, just tacky. Regrettably, I must strongly disagree with many other reviews. This was the most disappointing full-hookup campsite we've stayed at during our 3 years of travel.

The campground, which is ample and consists of gravel sites, is well-maintained. Apart from the occasional train passing by, it's a suitable spot for an RV stay of a few nights. The washroom facilities are also spotless.

This is a pleasant spot situated to the west of Dodge City. It's just a short distance away from Front Street and the Boot Hill Museum. The mobile network reception from AT&T is strong, with three bars, and the internet connectivity through WiFi is also reliable.

Firstly, I'll address the two minor issues. There are railway tracks directly adjacent to the road and it's a crossing point for the horns, so expect to hear them quite often during the day, but less so at night. The park management has no power over the train schedules, but it's worth mentioning as it could be a concern for some. The second issue is the lack of waste disposal facilities; we found only one bin on site, and half of its lid was jammed into the bin, making it difficult to dispose of our garbage when it was full. However, this is off-peak season, so there might be more bins available during peak times. Now, let's move on to the positives. We have a 35' TT and a 21' truck. The drive-through sites are flat and surfaced with crushed cement. They are quite spacious. We can easily park our truck and trailer end-to-end and still have ample space at both ends. Each site comes with a picnic table and a small concrete slab with a built-in eye hook for grilling or tethering your dog. The property is lush with trees, so it must be lovely during peak season. Currently, there are numerous bird nests with eggs, and even a few hanging nests, though the trees are still bare. There are plenty of rabbits around at night! The 30amp service is reliable, and we've had no issues. The water pressure is excellent and the water is fresh and clean - not something all parks can boast of! The sewer hook-up is functioning as expected. The laundry room is clean, equipped with four top-loading washers that fill up quickly, costing $2 per load. There are four dryers, with one currently out of order. Quarters for the machines can be obtained from the office. The shower rooms are neat and clean, with three stalls and three showers each offering great water pressure. The showers are spacious with two shelves for your toiletries. Each

I travelled here with a 35’ 5th wheel, long bed pickup and parked in site #96, a FHU PT site for $48/night. The roads and sites were both gravel. Sites were level and had a wide grassy area between them. No fire pits or grills. Picnic tables have seen better days. It was easy to navigate through the park and there was plenty of room on the PT to disconnect and park the truck. There were three different choices of spots to hook up your sewer which was really helpful. Most sites have trees between them for shade later in the year. My site had a newly planted tree so not much help there. There was some road noise and I heard a train once or twice. The wind drowned out the sounds a great deal of the time. There were long periods of high wind alerts and red flag alerts. There was a bathroom and shower up by the office and pool, not really convenient for the rigs parked in the main area. The bathrooms are older, but they have tried to brighten them up with paint. More importantly, they were clean. The laundry was clean with 4 each washers and dryers. $2 for a wash and $.25 for 10 minutes of drying. 4 bars LTE with Verizon, weak wifi, and several OTA channels. The person at the desk was very nice which helped make this a nice spot to stay at while visiting Dodge City. If I was going to stay there again I would ask for a spot closer to the grove of trees to help protect the rig from the wind.
