The only reason this review is not 5-Star is that the sites are a bit too close. The Center sections that are back-ins could be considered pull-throughs if none are occupied at the time of arrival. Once you're in a site depending on the size of your rig & your neighbor to the rear leaves no room - spare tire to spare tire! Overall the Camp has improved so much with new asphalt at many sites and on the streets. Some sites are still gravel and have wood patios, other sites are improved with asphalt & concrete patios. The restroom/shower facility is up to date with tile showers. Lots to do on the grounds with play area, volleyball, miniature golf, fishing at the creek which surrounds 50% of the grounds. The owners/staff are really down home Southern Comfort!! Frankfort is the Capital City of Kentucky so there are many things to do around the area, however, some activity is a bit of a drive. Provisioning is fine with local stores, except there is no Walmart except 15-30miles away (Lawrenceburg or Lexington). No highway noise, very peaceful. Unfortunately we were there in late October so the weather wasn't cooperating - this will be wonderful during summer! Good connections with utilities including the cable TV. Camp WiFi was good as was the cell service on AT&T & Verizon.

Overall it’s a great place and if I come back I wouldn’t mind staying again. I must agree with others about the campsites being stacked on top of each other. Although I did not have an issue personally, it would’ve been nice to have a little bit more space. When you arrive there is no clear defined area to park for registration. An arrow pointing towards a temporary parking spot would be nice. The registration process was quick and easy, but, they really need to get online so there are no clerical errors like when I arrived. I originally reserved for five nights over the phone yet the paperwork only showed me there for two. Each lot appears to be clearly marked on the pavement and also at each hook up. The dump station has a ready to use hose and was very clean. However, they need clear signs to be posted rather than only putting up signs stating no parking. I used the 30 amp connection and I did not have any issues with electricity nor the water. My lot was backed up to the creek which was nice. The Wi-Fi is very spotty and when you do get it, don’t expect anything close to what you might have at home. As for T-Mobile service, one bar is all I’ve gotten, maybe two when I start driving away.

Very large and long pull through sites. Check in is easy and fast. This park is very well maintained. Sites are level with gravel pads. It's a lovely peaceful rural campground. We have stayed here several times and each time have been delighted with our sites. Their pull through sites are done how all pull through sites should be. We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

It wasn't great, it wasn't awful, but we wouldn't stay here again. The main reason is that the sites are way too close together. The side of our fifth wheel was only 2 feet from the picnic table of the site next to us. And, all RVs are back to back to each other - that means you have only 1-3 feet between your back end and the one behind you. I mean, really? We were walking the campground one night (the back area) and we realized we were walking on a ton of goose poop. There are plenty of methods to move geese off your property, I wish they would implement one. Finally, when we first arrived, there was no clear signage of where to park etc when checking in, so we had to wait a while for another rig to move out of our way. A couple permanent-looking rigs were shockingly shabby with outrageous junk in their spaces. Three stars for price, noise level and I'm trying to be positive.

So I would camp here again, but not if I could find something else. It is more like an RV Park than a campground. However, because it is on the river it is a weekend hot spot for locals. They fish, kayak, tube and even swim in it. You can do campfires in the rings and people do. There are a lot, I mean a lot of Canadian geese in the river and campground and they are very messy birds. There are many semi-permanent residents, but the campground is kept up. Always felt safe here. There is only 2 washers and dryers for the entire campground, which isn't enough. We had to go to a laundry mat in town. Verizon cell service is ok, you can work from it, streaming, not so much. WiFi is iffy. The site we were on was in the middle so there is no separate from the rig behind you besides a painted line and RV's would pull over the line and be inches from your RV. One night the Diesel pusher behind us decided to run his engine at 10pm when we were trying to sleep, not only was it noisy, but it shook the entire trailer and stunk. There was no after hours number to call, so if we did stay here again, we would never stay in one of those sites.

We stayed two nights with full hook ups. It’s an okay little campground. If you stay next to the creek I’m sure it would be a little nicer but the sites are still pretty close together. There’s a run down trailer park pretty close to the campground which isn’t very eye appealing when you arrive. The bath house is really nice and they have a small playground. A small mini golf area and a decent size pool. Not a bad campground but I’d say definitely not the greatest either.
