This is a hidden treasure located close to Helen, Georgia. The personnel are fantastic. Phil, the proprietor, is fantastic and has a wealth of local knowledge to share. They were able to fit my 35-foot RV at drive-through spot #39. It comes with a complete connection and seclusion. It's near State parks, hiking trails, and the city of Helen. We are definitely returning!

This is out second time staying at Cherokee Campground. While it is a small campground with mostly full time and seasonal campers, it is extremely quiet and has all of the amenities you need. We love that it has full hook ups, is just a couple of miles from Unicoi State Park (which has no amenities and cannot accommodate a larger rig). It is also super close to a lot of hiking trails, the Appalachian trail, and kayaking on the Chattahoochee and downtown Helen. Our 36ft 5th wheel has no issues getting in and out of here. While the spots are close together, every time we've been here, there's so few people, there's at least 4-5 empty spots between everyone. Bathrooms and showers are clean enough. The campground itself just ditched the cable and upgraded to have free wifi throughout. And we've been working on their network and streaming with zero issues. It's fast enough for Zoom calls, etc. Cell phone service is just okay. We have Verizon on our phones - I am getting 3G. So enough to make calls, text, etc. A little slow on the data side for surfing the internet. My partner also has Verizon but has slightly better service with a little LTE and isn't having any issues with data/hotspot data from his phone. We additionally have a mobile router that runs off of a T-Mobile tower/sim card. With the antenna, we're able to pull T-Mobile internet just fine and have been also working off of that network with high speeds. I think if you were to have a T-Mobile cell phone with no additional antenna, you may not be able to pull as strong as a signal. The owners are extremely, extremely, extremely nice and will talk your ear off. But they'll make sure you have everything you need. The first time we stayed last summer, they answered the phone immediately when calling to make a reservation. And we had a nice experience so when we were back in the area, we wanted to stay here again. But this time, I called over a 3 week period to make a reservation and no one answered the phone. I must have called 15 times, and left 3 voicemails. My partner also called 10+ times and left voicemails. I even emailed and still did not get a response. One time, she did answer and said she'd call me back and she never did. We finally got through to them about 2 days prior to arriving and they answered the phone so we could make a reservation. If we had not stayed here before, there's no way in hell I would have spent three weeks trying to get a hold of them. If you can't get them on the phone, I advise just showing up. Unless it is Octoberfest in Helen, the chances that they have an open spot are pretty good.
