Pretty quiet w/ occasional road noise, showers are clean with lots of hot water, pit toilets are clean and do not smell. Sites vary in size, most are not level but ours was. Potable water, dumpster and firewood available. No dump station. There are numerous hiking trails accessible from the campground. Close to Freeport and Portland for day trips. Nightly price I listed is with tax included.

Smallish park, check in was a little confusing as the campground is slightly up the road from the park. No place to check in at the campground, but we got'er done by finding a ranger. Sites are quite nice, but mostly designed for tents and small campers (think pop-up) - site 19 is the only huge site - both wide and long, and our truck and 19 has a slight decline, but it was relatively easy to find level. A little road noise, but otherwise very quiet at night - definitely not a party place. Water available in several locations, but we would have needed a very long hose to fill so just carried a couple of jerry cans to fill for the night. No dump station, but very nice fire pit and picnic table. Fabulously clean showers, and the cleanest and most nicely appointed dishwashing station (complete with microwave!) I've seen in a state park, the host does a great job. Dark and quiet at night, the only sounds were crickets - perfect. Camped in fall, no mosquitoes at night to chase us inside.

No hookups. Composting toilet is nasty & stinks. Park several sites away from it. Lots of mosquitoes. Picnic table & fire ring provided. I would avoid this camp ground.
