Bonnievale Campsite offers camping grounds for up to 162 guests. There are canoes for guests to use in the river and a swimming pool for to enjoy. Caravans, tents and any other camping vehicles are allowed but are restricted to certain sites. Pets are allowed by prior arrangement.
Please see the individual room descriptions with photographs below, to assist you with your choice.
The river is wide and usually slow moving unless in the middle of winter or after heavy rains. Fishing is possible from the sites.
Communal kitchen Garden River Communal swimming pool Canoes for hire
There is an equipped, communal kitchen that consists of a microwave, stove, oven and a fridge / freezer for guests to make use of. Each campsite also features a BBQ / braai - guests must bring their own grid.
There are lots of fish in the river as the photos below show. Fishing is purely on a catch and release basis. Bass, Carp and Barbel are the predominant fish. A lightweight medium size rod with a mixture of lures, earthworms and mielie bomb would be a good start. The local Multisave which is open every day from early until late has a good fishing tackle section so you can get everything you need right here in Bonnievale.
Absolute fantastic site. Quiet, clean and well looked after. Dez is amazing, very friendly and always seems to try and accommodate everyone. The only gripe I have is the confusion over the site we booked, we were moved to make way for a group. However Dez made a plan and saved our trip. Ablutions are clean and have hot water. River and pool perfect for cooling off from the heat. Kayaks can be hired to explore the river. Braais are cleaned every morning. 5 stars
