Aurora RV Park & Marina

2985 Lakeshore Blvd
95484, Nice
California, the United States

Welcome to The (New) Aurora RV Park   The Aurora, with its magnificent lakeside location on California’s largest freshwater lake, is now undergoing more than a half million dollars of renovations, setting it apart as THE premier RV Park in all of Lake County.   Already there has been a major cleanup, and the park is starting to glitter. All 63 sites have been inspected and the water, sewer and electric hookups (30 & 50 amp) are all functioning perfectly. High-speed wireless is up and running. The wrought iron fences have been refinished, the buildings are about to be repainted (with murals of the lake and its surroundings), security cameras are being installed, and we are already implementing what is expected to be an award-winning landscape design. The bathrooms are soon to be remodeled in a style to rival the finest hotels, the front office will be completely re-done (with the entrance now directly off Lakeshore Boulevard), and a makeover is in store for the laundry room.   The biggest addition will be the swimming pool and the hot tub (set in a stone surround) – both of which will have “infinity edges” overlooking the lake. These, unfortunately, cannot be completed until the new seawall is installed. Hopefully, if the permitting process can be expedited, the pool and hot tub will be completed this summer.   Along with the new seawall, a fishing pier will be built and new docks constructed. The outdoor grill area and the meeting room will also be refurbished. To be sure, it will take some time to complete all this work. Still, guests are loving it here right now. After all, the lake can be glorious even without a phenomenal RV park. (You must try the truly enchanting experience of paddling quietly as the ducks and geese swim nearby, as an occasional fish leaps out of the water, and as the sun rises or sets over the surrounding mountains, radiating a brilliant orange across the entire sky.)   You undoubtedly will be more impressed every time you return. But you will also be impressed right now, so join us today as we continue towards our ultimate goal of offering the Greatest RV Park in the Galaxy …

This was one of the worst parks we've ever stayed at. The pictures on the website are not even close to what you get. We were told when we made the reservation that we would get an extra long 60 plus foot pull through site. We had to pay the full $82 for one night at time of reservation. Five days before arrival, we got a text stating our site number 53 and that it was a 43 foot site for our 32 foot fifth wheel and full size pickup. I responded and asked if there would be enough room to park the truck. I was assured there was plenty of room to park next to the fifth wheel. of course, there was no refund to be gotten. When we arrived we found the roads and sites to be extremely narrow. We had to shoehorn our unit into the site, and park the truck partway into the road. Most everyone was parked into the road. Sign on office stated to call or text a number. Our neighbor told us there is never anyone in the office. Trees were very much in need of trimming. A large oleander bush scraped and damaged a decal on our unit on the way out. There was no way to get past it without brushing it and no one to cut it. Bathrooms were locked with no code given. Garbage cans were overflowing. Looks like most sites occupied by long term residents with junk and older trailers. Dogs were running around off leash. PIcnic table at lake was covered in bird poop. Lake was muddy and full of weeds and algae, with old tires and a broken boat. We feel we were totally duped into staying here based on their website. Horrible place. Don't be fooled as we were!!!

Pulled in after dark. Sites and driveways are extremely narrow. Felt like sardines. Lots of full timers here. Lake view is nice, but only from the few sites on the south side of the road. Hookups all worked fine and it was really quiet at night. Front desk receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly. Worked for a quick overnight, but certainly wouldn’t plan to stay here otherwise.

Finding a decent RV resort in the Clearlake area is difficult. This is probably the best one can find on the lake. The staff is helpful and friendly. The spaces are extremely tight. Lucky for us, the space next to us was empty. For an overnight that was fine, however, if I were wanting to sit outside and enjoy, it would not be something that I would find appealing, only because of how close everyone was. The lakeside area was well kept and in good order. We are in a Class B, I don’t know how large units make it in there.

At first I wasn’t sure I’d come back and stay again but overall husband, sister and I had a lovely stay. Let me explain.... so I’m a glam diva and I like glam camping experiences while enjoying nature. Driving into the RV resort the area looked run down and kinda crappy to be honest. I thought what have we gotten into?! However, once we got situated into our site and saw the beautiful Clearlake my concerns for the most part we’re put at ease. Then we started chatting with our neighbors and met great people! Some of whom we’re retired and travel full time RV’ing! We had lovely conversations learning about others RV travels! Sadly on our second night one of our neighbors had a Psychotic “breakdown” I guess you could say and was walking around yelling, talking loudly that his RV was being targeted by vandals. OMG!!! This was from about 2:30am till close to 5am he was in a “meltdown” state!! The local Sheriff’s office was called and officers tried to control the young man who clearly was in an altered/ induced state of some sort!!!????? Waving a knife and banging loudly on his unit and perhaps other RV’s, I really don’t know! The loud noises literally woke us up from a sound sleep! Terrifying to say the least!!! The RV Manager did his best to attempt to control the situation but the damage was done. We decided to stay our last two days and there were no further incidents. Despite that one night everyone was friend and helpful even the on-site staff. The RV resort restrooms were clean and there were plenty of free activities like canoeing and fishing etc. The RV full hook ups worked well. I just may come back!! 😊
