The Glut Picnic Ground Campground

An attractive grassed clearing on a low ridge above Long Gully Creek. Well shaded by Stringybark with a wattle understory. The small, level parking area is adjacent to facilities (new). Wallabies are common, birds (kookaburras, wrens, etc) plentiful. Three walking trails.

The Neck Campground

Set amongst coastal bush, a short walk to the beach on Bruny Island. The campground is located on the narrow isthmus between South and South Bruny Island. The sites are level and picnic facilities are available.

Point Sturt Campground

Point Sturt

A flat open area, grass on top of lime stone, so difficult to pitch a tent. The camp area is exposed, with no shelter from the sun or wind. The camp site is on top of a small cliff above Lake Alexandrina, but access to the water is quite easy.

Sunny Corner Campground

A travelers rest stop dating from the 1850s, now seeing occasional use from mushroom hunters. The Sunny Corner Camping Reserve is a large flat area well suited to any kind of camping, with a concrete shelter, fire-rings, and lots and lots of mushrooms.

Happy Valley Landing Campground

Pleasant dispersed riverside camping with numerous level sites shaded by a row of Red River Gums backed by mature Black Box over grass, with wattle and scrub understory. Sandy river banks, few beaches. There is one high level (grassed and shaded) site at the forest edge.

Reids Campground

A basic but well grassed and shaded campsite in Upper Big River State Forest in VictoriaRight on the Arnold Creek, this site is usually not too crowded. There are open grassed areas well suited for tent camping and enough space for camper trailers. Thanks to Peter for the following updates.

Nyah State Forest Campground

Dispersed bush camping on the high banks of the Murray River. Only a couple of small beaches. Flood plain State Forest - dense River Red Gum with some broom scrub with grasses, billabongs, creeks and swamps. Prolific bird life. Rated 4. 3/5AccessThis site is accessable by caravans in good weather.

Daleys Clearing Campground

Very large, open and flat campground set amongst pine forest. The campground is suitable for Caravans and campervans. Pets allowed if effectively restrained. Plenty of 4wd trails in the surrounding state forest.

Dingo Creek Campground

A very picturesque green site in a forested gully, on small level grassed (short) flats on both sides of the bubbling Dingo Creek near its junction with the Agnes River. Well shaded by a mature pine, wattles and blackwood, surrounded by steep forested slopes and tree-fern gullies. Rated 4.

Dispersed bush camping on short green grass by the Murray River surrounded by flood plain forest - River Red Gum, billabongs and swamps. Low level banks, no beach, informal boat ramp. A relatively small, quiet, pleasant reserve with prolific bird life and grazing cattle.

Bettys Beach Campground

Beautiful, free, beachside campground at the eastern end of Two Peoples Bay near Albany. There are basic toilet facilities and rubbish bins provided. From February to April, this area is used by the commercial fishers and camping is not encouraged.

Nyah Recreation Reserve Campground

On the banks of the Murray River with shady or sunny sites suitable for caravans or motorhomes but no tents allowed. There is easy access to the river for kayaks or small boats via a dirt boat ramp (would be suitable for most tinnies). Sites are mostly grassy with large eucalypts for shade.
