Right near the mouth of the Fitzroy River, this is a large, level and grassy campground
The camping area itself is quite open, and there is not a lot of shade, however there are some scattered eucalyptus and coastal scrub around the edges. Fishing This is a great spot to base for a kayak (or power boat) fishing trip as there is direct access to the river from the nearby boat ramp. You are also just a few hundred metres from the entrance to the ocean, which makes this a great place for bream and salmon. There are plenty of pippies along the beach as well. If you don't have a boat, there is still plenty of options for bank fishing. If you don't mind getting your feet wet, you can follow the river to the ocean (about 400 metres away), and get right onto the beach.
Access
This site is accessable by caravans in good weather.
